ZipLock™ Builder Delivers Control for your ESD product.
The ZipLock Builder 3.0 helps you create single product inventory units for widespread distribution with independent channel partners. Develop loyal, repeat ESD customers by offering well-designed packaging and a consistent, comfortable purchasing experience. Establish the publisher's brand and product identity on the downloaded ESD product, while letting resale channel partners independently add their logo and marketing messages.
Publishers, distributors and resellers use the ZipLock Builder desktop application to securely package software products for promotion and sale in Web commerce environments. ZipLock Builder automates the process of building fully digital software products, getting them ready for market on the web.
The build process using ZipLock Builder creates ready-to-distribute ESD products with powerful brand identification and customer appeal. ZipLock Builder compresses, virus-scans, encrypts, attaches publisher "look and feel" marketing information, and tags a software product for identification by the specific ZipLock Server where the product's "unlock key" is stored.

Publishers or their fulfillment partners operate the ZipLock Builder application to package ESD-ready products with publisher and product brand identity. The operator of ZipLock Builder specifies what information may be added to the package by resellers later in the distribution chain.
Once a product is packaged with ZipLock Builder, it is ready for online sale directly to customers and for distribution to the ESD inventory host sites of distributors and resellers. Inventory control is built-in because access to a copy of that product is only accomplished by validated online connection to the ZipLock Server where the build was registered.

ZipLock Builder can run in batch mode for automated builds of large quantities of ESD-ready products.
ZipLock Builder creates a single unit of ESD product inventory for use by many channel partners under their own terms of saleуno more inventory builds "per reseller" or re-builds to change terms of sale.
ZipLock Builder provides highly secure units of inventory that can be distributed widely with minimal concern about protection in the open Internet environment or on CD-ROM.
ZipLock Delivers. . . Flexible ESD inventory access
ZipLock Builder creates inventory that can be hosted at a central site, mirrored to many sites, copied to channel partners' inventory sites, or distributed via CD-ROM and preloaded hard drive. ZipLock Merchant and ZipLock Client will manage the linking and download processes and a ZipLock Server will manage access to the software application.
ZipLock Builder defines how ZipLock Merchant and ZipLock Client will interact with the product during each sales transaction to add specific merchandising information dynamically at the point of sale.
ZipLock Builder functions:
Registers the product inventory under a unique "product identification" number with a ZipLock Server.
Creates a pointer file for each product build, extension .zdf, that defines the build instructions and the bitmaps and text files to combine with program files in the ESD build.
Supports complex product file directory and subdirectory structures, preserving this information for use in the decryption and installation process.
Processes software application products that are hundreds of megabytes in size, consisting of thousands of program files.
Selectively encrypts key program files as the operator designates.
Asks the operator for designation of a 'launch' file and a destination directory for program files.
Can attach specific categories of files such as demo versions of the product (not encrypted), an end user license agreement and a buying survey utility.
Is used to tailor the graphical display to be presented upon delivery of the protected software package to the customer's desktop.
Includes software application platform requirements in the information associated with each product build
Includes hard drive space requirements in the information associated with each product build.
Builds ESD-ready product inventory singly or in batch mode.
Protects ESD-ready software products with commercial-grade encryption technology at higher than 90-bit levels, licensed from RSA.
